Care guide
We believe the most sustainable garment is the one that gets worn again and again. So we want to share a few notes on how to love your pieces for longer.
we wash our pieces on a gentle, cold setting
Cold water helps reduce colour fading and minimise shrinkage, while a gentle setting helps embroidery, prints and trims last longer by reducing stress on the fabric. For detergent, we generally reach for Ecostore or the The Dirt Company.
we turn garments inside out before washing
Turning garments inside out helps protect prints, embroidery and textured finishes from friction during washing, keeping them looking their best for longer.
we prefer to line dry in the shade
Drying garments naturally helps preserve colour, minimise shrinkage and maintain the softness of natural fibers over time. If the weather isn't cooperating, tumble drying on a low heat setting is generally fine. Higher temperatures can increase the risk of shrinkage and place additional stress on natural fibers.
we treat stains as soon as possible
Childhood can be messy. We treat stains as soon as possible. For most stains, we reach for products from Koala Eco and The Dirt Company. Never underestimate the power of direct sunlight for whites and lighter colours.
the oil stain trick we swear by
Oil stains are one of the most common stains found on children's clothing. They are often caused by food, greasy fingers, sunscreen or other everyday adventures and can sometimes go unnoticed until after washing.
After plenty of testing with our own kids pieces, this is the method we reach for time and time again:
- Apply a few drops of dishwashing liquid directly to the stain (we love eco store found here).
- Sprinkle a generous pinch of baking soda over the top.
- Using a toothbrush or your fingers, gently work the mixture into the fabric until it forms a paste.
- Leave for 30–60 minutes.
- Without rinsing, place the garment in the washing machine and wash as usual.
- Air dry. Direct sunlight can also work wonders, however prolonged exposure may cause some fading, particularly on darker colours.
If the stain remains, repeat the process before drying.
A note on play.
Our pieces are made for real childhood. Climbing, crawling, snack spills and muddy knees included.
With a focus on natural fibres and quality fabrics sourced from specialist mills in Korea, our pieces are designed to be loved, lived in and passed on. We create timeless styles that are designed to mix, match and play, season after season and gentle care will help preserve their colour, shape and softness for years to come.
Like all well-loved garments, some fading and wear is a natural part of the journey. We think these little signs of adventure add character, telling the story of countless days spent exploring, creating and playing.
